Dr. Tahir is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 40 years of experience in the field. He is dedicated to serving patients in a meaningful way, actively listening to their concerns and helping them learn how to approach their mental, emotional, and behavioral problems. Dr. Tahir excels at providing individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults, helping them facilitate social, vocational, and personal adjustments to lead more meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Dr. Tahir’s educational background includes a PhD from University College Maynooth, Co. Kildare in 2011, an MA in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) from University College Cork, Ireland from 2003-2005, and a Post Graduate Certificate of Assessment and Treatment in Child Neuropsychology from The European Graduate School of Child Neuropsychology, Pedological Institute, Duivendrecht, Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 1999.
Throughout his career, Dr. Tahir has held various positions, including Lecturer at the Masters in Psychology program at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) since January 2023, Head of Psychology and Consultant Clinical Psychologist at KidsHeart Medical Centre in Abu Dhabi since July 2018, and Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Universal Hospital, Abu Dhabi from January 2018 to May 2018, among others.
Dr. Tahir has also contributed to the field through his research work and has been published in various journals. He is a registered member of the Psychological Society of Ireland, the Pakistan Psychological Association, and the British Association of Behavioral & Cognitive Psychotherapists Association (BABCPA).
With his extensive experience, dedication to patient care, and expertise in individual psychotherapy, Dr. Tahir is a valuable asset to the Consultants Medical Centre team.
